Increased Wellness Through Gardening and Education
At the start of 2023, we were thrilled to ring in the new year with a Change X grant! This grant has projects all over the US and each project focuses on ways to develop community, with goals like increased wellness through gardening and education. Two of our favorite subjects! Our project, called Regenerative 2-1-Hoe kicks off this month with culinary gardening classes and garden workdays every Saturday at The Eagle’s Nest Community Garden @ Tecolote from 10:30am-2:00pm. Funding enabled us to get an industrial demo table and shelving to add to our outdoor classroom.
A regenerative gardening first for San Antonio!
While we are stoked about the grant funding, Kristi and I are most excited about being able to work more at The Eagle’s Nest and continue to develop this site as the first true Regenerative Community Garden of San Antonio as well as a Teaching Garden for adults and children alike. One of the best aspects of Regenerative 2-1-Hoe is that it’s not just Kristi and I teaching and gardening. Instead we gathered a team of talented, local leaders from all around San Antonio who hold the Earth close to their hearts. Having these minds collaborating with the The Eagle’s Nest community is so rewarding! Did I mention that all of them are women and educators?
